The spread of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) epidemic has been curbed for now, and the prevention and control work has achieved phased results. But blind optimism must be avoided. Chinese President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, pointed out that we should be aware that the turning point of the COVID-19 outbreak has not come yet and the prevention and control situation in Hubei Province and its capital city, Wuhan, remains serious and complex, while he presided over a meeting of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee on February 21.

As the epicenter of the outbreak, Hubei Province, especially Wuhan City, affects the overall situation. The diagnosed cases of novel coronavirus pneumonia in Hubei has accounted for more than 80 percent of China’s total for a long period of time, while the number of confirmed cases in Wuhan accounted for more than 70 percent in Hubei Province. If Wuhan wins, then Hubei wins. If Hubei wins, the whole country wins! In the crucial battle, tackling difficulties remains arduous.

The more hardships, the stronger we get. The greater the difficulties, the further we advance.

On the afternoon of February 22,

China Pictorial reporters Duan Wei, Xu Xun, Ma Gengping and Chen Jian

set out for Wuhan, the forefront of the anti-epidemic war.

With their cameras,

they are revealing the battle against the novel coronavirus pneumonia,
