Save Every Single Life

The spirit of caring, respecting and saving every single life is fully reflected in the fight against the novel coronavirus epidemic in Wuhan, central China’s Hubei Province.

As of April 8, Wuhan Children’s Hospital, the country’s first designated hospital to treat children infected with COVID-19, had in total cured 779 confirmed and suspected cases, and helped deliver 2,283 new babies into the world, achieving zero cross-infection in the hospital.

Many COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals in Wuhan, more than 3,000 of whom are over 80 years old, with a recovery rate of 70 percent. Of those aged patients, eight are over 100 years old, and seven of them had been cured by April 10, with the oldest at 108.

On April 26, Wuhan hospitals cleared all COVID-19 cases. As of that day, a total of 46,464 patients had been cured and discharged from hospitals in the city, achieving an overall recovery rate of 94 percent. Nearly 90 percent of patients in severe condition have returned to normal life.

People are the most essential foundation and most powerful force of a country.

Making all-out efforts in epidemic prevention and control and placing top priority on people’s lives and health are the highest goal and most important approach of China in fighting against the novel coronavirus epidemic.
