Chen Xueliang, deputy director-general of the International Communication Bureau of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, attended the forum.

Chen Xueliang said in his speech that the TAC annual meeting is the largest, highest-level and most influential annual event in the translation industry. It has become the best platform for Chinese and foreign translators to exchange ideas, share experiences and learn from each other. It has played a vital role in unifying thoughts, enhancing cohesion, and promoting the vigorous development of China’s translation industry. In particular, standing at the 70-year mark of the translation cause of New China represents a fresh start for continuing work. The TAC annual meeting is of far-reaching significance for its steady, long-term development to help Chinese translators review the past, sum up experience and look to the future.

Chen pointed out that it is the mission of the Chinese translation community to grasp the trend of the new era, rely on the upgrading of translation work, and tell Chinese stories to the world.

A total of nine Chinese and foreign speakers attended the forum to discuss the development and future trends of the translation and language service industry.
