Uniting a Youth-Inspired Global Community

The WiseDemo Campaign 2022 Proposal Presentation, a central part of the Global Young Leaders Dialogue (GYLD) program, kicked off on July 15 with dialogue, discussion, and deliberation at a time when communication was in dire need.

“Youngsters are a new force and potential leaders,” declared Yu Tao, vice president of China International Communications Group (CICG), in a speech at the event. “Building a community with a shared future for humanity exemplified by a greener, more robust and balanced global development is an aspiration of people worldwide, but making it a reality demands devotion from the young generation.”

More than 100 proposals of young people from 44 countries have been received since the launch of the WiseDemo Campaign in February 2022. The top 10 proposals were presented at the event with technical supports from the Metaverse Communication Lab. Five topics are involved: Poverty Reduction and Inclusive Development, COVID-19 Fight and Public Health, Climate Change and Green Development, Innovation Drive and Digital Economy, and Open Cooperation and Interconnectivity.

Highlights include Promote China’s Poverty Alleviation to Indonesia in the Time of Economic Recovery After Pandemic, BRI Health Corridor, Green Development Performance Evaluation in the Era of Climate Change: A Novel Perspective for BRICS, The Temper ConceptChina Through Fashion and Urban Culture, Model SCO: Learning Empathy Through “Shanghai Spirit, and many more.

Jointly organized by the Academy of Contemporary China and World Studies (ACCWS), CICG, and the Center for China and Globalization (CCG), this event seeks innovative proposals for global development from young professionals from around the world to be developed with guidance from experienced officials and researchers.
